ATS, commonly known as the Austrian Schilling, used to be the currency of Austria before it inherited the Euro.
It ceased to be legal tender in 2002 and is now available as crypto ATS at 13.7603 ATS to 1 EUR. This is precisely the exchange rate of the fiat ATS as yielded in 1999 by the European Central Bank.
In contrast to the fiat ATS, the crypto ATS of the ARTIS blockchain is governed by math. The issuance of the new ATS is hard-coded and fully transparent. The inflation decreases from 5% at inception of the ARTIS blockchain (Nov. 2018) to 2% per year over the course of the next 20 years.
Within this time frame, the fiat EUR may have tripled its circulating supply as we de facto know that this has already happened in the past 20 years since its inception.
The accumulated funds through inflation and transaction fees will be governed by the crypto ATS holders through voting and used to fund sustainability projects that can have immediate positive impact on our carbon-footprint and hence bring us closer to a zero-carbon society.
Validators are staking ATS to validate blocks within the ARTIS blockchain system and hence are an indispensable part to build and maintain our decentralized infrastructure.
